ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- April 7, 2008 --American Megatrends (AMI) will demonstrate its StorTrends® iTX Storage Software for the AMD Storage Bridge Bay (SBB) 2.0 RDK and the Tyan Transport GT24 Storage Server with an AMD Opteron™ 64 Processor at the upcoming Storage Networking World, from Monday, April 7th to Wednesday, April 10th, 2008, at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida.
The demonstrations will take place in the AMD booth # 706 and will highlight the recently released StorTrends iTX data storage software solutions for these two systems, both featuring AMD processors with Direct Connect Architecture. SNW attendees will witness firsthand the unique capability of StorTrends iTX to handle enterprise-level data storage management, with a robust feature set that includes Advanced Snapshots, Synchronous and Asynchronous Replication, High Availability, Information Lifecycle Management, and much more, all accessible through a “single pane of glass” web-based GUI interface.
“AMI is proud to have the opportunity to showcase our StorTrends iTX software at the premier storage event in the world,” said S. Shankar, President and CEO of American Megatrends. He also noted that the collaboration between AMD and AMI extends well beyond the confines of SNW.
“We are particularly proud of the fact that our demonstration will be located in the AMD booth, reflecting the alliance of many years between these two companies. We would like to extend our thanks to AMD for making this platform available with StorTrends iTX software and thus highlighting AMI’s strength in this market.”
“Storage software has become a key differentiator in this market and AMI’s StorTrends iTX software combined with AMD Opteron processors offers strong benefits for small and medium-sized businesses,” said Buddy Broeker, director, Embedded Computing Solutions Division, AMD. “As storage is increasingly managed on the network, a robust software solution like AMI’s StorTrends iTX plays a key role in delivering a robust Reference Design Kit like the new AMD SBB 2.0 RDK.”
This latest version of StorTrends iTX has a number of new enterprise-class features, including Continuous Data Protection (CDP), Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), Storage Resource Management (SRM), and WAN-optimization Data Services (WDS) featuring data deduplication and link optimization.
Paresh Chatterjee, Chief Technology Officer of American Megatrends, outlined what makes this software stack unique: “StorTrends iTX software provides true enterprise-level features, at a pricing level that is within the range of small and medium sized businesses. Its ability to offer continuous data protection and an enhanced DR suite through a combination of snapshot and replication technologies at this price point is unparalleled in the industry.”
American Megatrends would like to welcome attendees to booth # 706 at SNW in Orlando from April 7 – 10, to learn more about the innovative features of AMI’s StorTrends iTX storage software, and its capability to maximize the performance and power of the Tyan Transport GT24 featuring AMD Opteron processors and the AMD SBB 2.0 RDK.
